Upcoming Commercial Dog Walker Certification Classes
So you want to be a dog walker in San Francisco?
Effective July 1, 2013, commercial dog walkers with 4 or more dogs, limited to 8 dogs total, are required to carry a valid annually renewed dog walking permit issued by the San Francisco Department of Animal Care & Control.
Enforcement of this law will take place on all City property under the Department of Recreation and Parks, SF Port, and the Public Utilities Commission. (See the San Francisco Department of Animal Care & Control's information page regarding requirements for dog walkers.)
In order to obtain a permit to walk 4-8 dogs commercially within San Francisco (or 3-6 dogs at any GGNRA-controlled area), one must become certified as a trained commercial dog walker. Prosh Pets is pleased to announce that the SFACC has approved of and is endorsing our condensed CDW Training Course as meeting their requirements for certification, which is just one of the stepping stones to becoming a safe and successful dog walker in San Francisco.
